ASPIRA Academy K-8 Updates & Reminders

Dear Aspirantes, ASPIRA Families, and Team Members.

On the eve of our first day of school, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to each of you. Tomorrow marks the beginning of an exciting new school year filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and build lasting connections. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we look forward to partnering with you to make this year a successful, safe, and enriching experience for every student.

We are thrilled to welcome our new students and families into our school community, and we look forward to reconnecting with those who are returning. To our teachers and team members, thank you for your dedication and energy—you are the heart of what makes our school such a special place.

It is very important that families look for an email sent by Infinite Campus (the email might have ended up in your junk, promotions, or other email folder). Please search your email INBOX to find the email and complete the parent portal to receive access to your student’s information.

Together, let’s make this year a positive, inspiring, and memorable journey for all. I can’t wait to see the smiles, hear the laughter, and witness the amazing things we will accomplish as a school family.

Reminders & Updates

Infinite Campus Parent Portal and Annual Student Contact Verification: In an effort to have effective and efficient communication with our parents, we will be utilizing Infinite Campus, our NEW student information system platform!  Through the Parent Portal, ASPIRA parents and guardians can check grades, attendance, communicate with school staff, and much more. If you do not have access to a device, devices and assistance will be made available at school. View the Infinite Campus Parent Portal video, click HERE

  • In order to have access to the parent portal information, you will first need to complete the annual contact verification section. Once this is completed, you will have access to all the features the parent portal has to offer.

Communication: School Emails/Text/Phone Calls: We use Infinite Campus and our ASPIRA App for all school wide communications. This platform allows us to send communications via email, phone text, and voicemail (when necessary). All communications use the student database mentioned above.  To receive all school-wide and classroom notifications, promptly inform the school's main office of any changes to your primary phone number and email address. Please “opt-in” to receive these important messages via text and voicemail. Click HERE for instructions.

School Class Start Time:

  • Middle School classes will start at 7:10am.

  • Elementary School classes will start at 8:30am.

Breakfast procedure in place for school year 2025-2026:   Breakfast will be available to all 6th-8th grade students from 6:45am-7:05am, and from 8:10am - 8:25am for students in grades K5.  Breakfast will not be available after 7:05 am (grades 6-8) or 8:25 am (grades K-5). The only exception to this procedure would be to accommodate late bus arrivals.

Communication Device Policy:  Communication devices such as, but not limited to, cellular phone, wearable technology, and/or electronic signaling devices, may not be used at school, on field trips, and/or on the school bus without permission from an LAAA team member.

  • The device must be turned off and left in their locker/cubbie or secured in their homeroom teacher’s cell phone lockbox. The device will be returned each day to the student.

  • Students are prohibited from recording anyone without their permission. Students violating this policy will have the item confiscated and turned over to an administrator.

  • A parent/guardian will have to make arrangements to pick up the device in the Main Office. LAAA is not responsible for lost, stolen and/or damaged personal property. ○ Wearable technology examples are, but not limited to, AirPods, smart watches, wireless headphones.

The following consequences will be applied if students do not follow the wearable technology expectation and are found with their device during the school day. This expectation will also be followed during our extended care hours.

  1. First Offense - The device will be confiscated and locked in the main office safe. An authorized family member will be required to pick up the phone from the main office.

  2. Subsequent Offenses - The device will be confiscated and locked in the main office safe. A $10 fee must be paid before the phone will be returned and an authorized family member will be required to pick up the phone from the main office.

School Calendar: Review the ASPIRA Main School Calendar. Notice that the main calendar includes the entire calendar while the grade level calendars may only include elementary, middle or high school focused events. Click HERE for a video with instructions on how to download the ASPIRA App for easy access to the school calendar of events.

School Uniform Reminders:  Your child must be in compliance with the Uniform Policy at all times; therefore, be sure to secure the required items in time for the start of the school year (August 25). Click on the link to refer to the School Uniform Policy one-pager. For the complete list of school uniform requirements, please make sure to review the Code of Conduct before the first day of school. We encourage you to take a close look at the Uniform Policy since some of the requirements and expectations have been modified. The school logo items must be purchased through one of the approved vendors. Click to the ASPIRA Uniform Vendors.

Car Arrival and Dismissal: Arrival procedures will remain the same as in previous years. Returning families will display in their rearview mirror the same CarRider Pro Tag(s) used in previous years. New families will receive two CarRider Pro tags during Welcome Back to School events. There will be a charge of $25 per replacement tag (returning families). The CarRider Pro Tags are read as your vehicle enters the school, which allows us to expedite the student car dismissal process.  We will not be able to dismiss students in the order their vehicle came into the back parking lot if the parent/guardian does not have a CarRider Pro Tag. These students will be dismissed last. Middle school students must be picked up by 2:30pm and Elementary students by 3:45pm. Students not picked up at those times will be sent to aftercare, and a fee of $15 will be due at pick up.
