Dear ACHS Families,
Welcome to the first ACHS Family Newsletter of the 2025–2026 school year! It has been a busy and exciting start, and we are grateful for the strong partnership we share with you. At ACHS, we believe student success is a team effort—made possible when our school, ASPIRANTES, and families work together.
In the year ahead, there are a few key areas where home and school collaboration will make a big difference. You can support your ASPIRANTE by:
Ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time
Encouraging them to get to class promptly and put forth their best effort
Helping us maintain a safe, respectful learning environment
Making sure your student arrives in full uniform each day
These simple but essential steps help us stay focused on teaching and learning while minimizing distractions.
Welcoming New Faces to ACHS
This year, we are thrilled to welcome 17 New Team Members. Among them are a Multilingual Learner Teacher (MLL), school counselor, Special Education Coordinator, Athletic Trainer, and paraprofessionals—all of whom will expand academic, extracurricular and social-emotional support for our ASPIRANTES.
Back to School Night
Thank you to all the families who attended Back to School Night. It was a wonderful turnout, and we greatly appreciated the chance to connect with students and families. Your involvement makes a real difference in building a strong, supportive school community.
Next up is Open House on September 10th. This evening will start with Senior Parent night at 5:30 sharp followed by all grades 9-12 at 6:00 offering an opportunity to meet your ASPIRANTE’s teachers and support team.
9th Grade Orientation
On September 25, we welcomed 109- 9th graders to ACHS for orientation. With support from our teachers, Student Council, and the ASPIRA Cheer Team, we created a positive and welcoming start for our newest ASPIRANTES.
Culinary Pathway Launch & New Turf Field
We’re excited to announce the launch of a brand-new Culinary Pathway, expanding our Career and Technical Education (CTE) options and providing students with hands-on experience in the culinary arts.
In addition, students returned this fall to a major campus upgrade—our new turf soccer field and track. This facility represents a big step forward for our athletic programs and school spirit. If you haven’t seen it yet, we encourage you to stop by.
After-School Activity Bus
To help students participate in extracurriculars, we are now offering an after-school activity bus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Students who stay for tutoring, clubs, sports, or other activities will have a safe and reliable way home. Please check out the preliminary Hub Stops, which differ from the regular bus routes. We hope this new service helps more students get involved.
Counselors’ Corner
Mrs. Torres (students with last names A–L) and Mr. Shane (students with last names M–Z) began the schedule change process on 8/26. To request a schedule change, students must complete a Schedule Change Request Form (available outside the counseling suite) and submit it to their assigned counselor. Schedule change requests will be accepted through the end of the school day on 9/2.
Academic Spotlight
Congratulations to Mrs. Ponte’s AP Spanish class from last school year, which achieved an outstanding 97% pass rate. This success reflects both her commitment to high-quality instruction and her students’ hard work and dedication.
Tech Fee and Chromebooks
Students must pay a $25.00 technology fee in order to receive a Chromebook. If you have not already paid, please use this link. Please note that personal devices are not permitted to be used during the school day.
Family Partnerships Matter
As the year continues, your support remains essential. Here are a few key ways to help your student succeed:

Thank you for being an integral part of the ACHS community. We’re excited about the year ahead and look forward to achieving great things together.
